Young Vocal Artist

         Phillip Harris is a young baritone from Oakland, California. His operatic performances include the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro where he performed in Italy with the International Lyric Academy in Rome and Viterbo, opera in concert. He has also performed staged scenes from The Magic Flute ( Papageno) and Cosi fan tutte (Guglielmo) and was Jimmy in The Threepenny Opera with Opera UCLA. His Musical Theater performances include Westside Story, and leading roles in Sweet Charity and The Wiz. Phillip has had the privilege to perform in Shanghai and Beijing Concert Halls as well as Royce Hall with the UCLA Chorale and The Paramount Theater in Oakland. He was accepted into the Opera Vivia Summer program last year and sang for the Opera Noir Tenth Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles in 2009.  
     A graduate of Saint Mary's High School and The Young Musicians Program at UC Berkeley, his additional piano study has allowed several performances with Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and Gospel groups around northern and southern California. Phillip is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Arts at The University of California, Irvine.
